Live Season-wise: Winter is here! let's enjoy Hemant Rutu Charya. ( Yes, Hemant is a season out of 'six seasons' we have in India) This season comes once October heat is over. Cooler days bring a string of festivals. We experience strong appetite, better digestion and more physical strength. So we should have our diet, lifestyle and daily routine accordingly. ππ» Longer nights,shorter days and colder climate increase the appetite and digestion power and stamina. Avoid astringent,bitter,pungent,dry and light foods this season.(eg. roasted grains, kurmura, corn flakes,etc)πΏ Eat nutritious food with more oil/ ghee as compared to earlier season (eg. date rolls, dry fruit laddoos, sheera, Udadia, TIL laddoos)π₯₯ Eat food that is warm, dense and heavy in quality. Chew on a tsp of black sessame seeds with khadisakkar. Eat newly harvested crops, sweets, jaggery and all food with salty,sour and sweet taste. This season a healthy person must have regular heavy breakfast. Drink water boiled with ginger and a gold coin.πΈ Eat seasonal vegetables and fruits like guava, oranges, sitafal, kamal seeds and water chestnuts.π₯This is the season to have all kind of leafy vegetables.π₯¬ Also a season to eat dry fruits and spices. Include chyawanprashπ₯ and amla this season on regular basis to build up your strength and immunity. Do put nasyam ( medicated sessame oil or ghee in nose), shiro-abhyangam( head massage), padabhyangam( foot massage), Abhyangam ( oiling and massaging the body externally), exercisesπͺπ»ππΌββππ»π΄π»π€Ύπ»ββ, Udvartana ( rubbing medicated powder mixed with milk or malaai on body before bath), in this sequence only please. Do this as regularly as possible to nourish senses and infuse freshness and lightness in body. Daily mild sun exposure is very beneficial. It is that time to soak up as much vit D as you can..β Wear warm clothes (once it's cooler outside)ππ§€π§£π§¦π§₯π§Ά Sleep enough to rest your body well. But avoid sleeping during daytime.
